General information
Our families have children with a wide variety of mental health disorders from eating disorders to schizoaffective disorder. Some also have learning disabilities in addition to their mental health problems. We support families who have a child or young adult under the age of 21.
The group was initially established in 2005 with a grant from the Community Champions Fund to create an informal social network for families whose children have mental health problems.
Living with a child who has a mental health problem can be very stressful for the whole family, including siblings and can lead to families feeling isolated. Families Together provides an opportunity to meet others who can empathise and give mutual support in a confidential forum.
